Living The Dream Brewing

Sunday May 7th I went and checked out Living The Dream Brewing just south of C-470 and Santa Fe, just a hop-skip-jump from Grist where I was last weekend. It is located past Murdochs, you drive down a side road and seem lost but then it is behind a wood fence on the left. It is another one that is all open and you can see where they brew at. If you walk to the back there is a really nice outback patio, even has a spot to walk your dog so it can do it’s business. They have a few picnic tables out front next to where the food truck parks. They started having  cornhole tournaments on Tuesdays. My visit there was pretty uneventful besides the monsoon and sideways hail.  They are pretty dog friendly  and even had a group there with dogs up for adoption. The Highline Canal goes right by there too. Another spot you get a lot of locals at but if you have the beer you will know why.

Actually i really think Micros have taken the spots of local bars, except for now it is still acceptable to have young kids in there with you.

The food truck that day was J Street Korean food, i didn’t sample but it sure the damn smelt good.

I had a nice sampling of 10 beers and none of them bad actually

  • Schuss Bomber Lager– Was light beer tasted great
  • Raspberry Belgian Ale– Semi sweet with full taste. Liked it very much. Fruit beers are hit or miss and this one got to the fence.
  • Royal Nonsense ESB– I do love some ESBs and this one was no different. British Style though.
  • Under the Radar Red– A good red not that hoppy with good taste.Pretty Fantastic actually
  • German Chocolate Cake Ale– Just like it sounds. Tasted like the real deal minus the coconut frosting.  My Buddy Josip would love it but lie about it.
  • Helluva Caucasian Stout– I have had this one a few times over the years, always good. Who doesnt love a movie reference(The Big Lebowski). Its a White Russian style stout.
  • Smok’em If You Got’em– A smoked peach beer. Interesting. Not great not bad. its alright for one, a small one.
  • Empty Trophy Case IPA– a lighter IPA with low IBUs. Seemed to be a favorite of everyone else that was there heard it ordered the most.
  • Ice Climber IPA– An Imperial IPA 8% But not over whelming. Smooth with the hops.
  • Hop Eating Grin DIPA– A double IPA 9.8% high IBU but without the skunk after taste.
